She talks : )

I walked into Q's room, moved in close and cautiously offered a " Susie?" Her eyes immediately opened and she said, "Hi, I'm so glad to see you." It was fantastic! We went on talking back and forth and I was so happy to bring her good news about her surgery. I could hardly believe she was able to converse so coherently when only a matter of a few hours earlier Dr. Horner was working on her brain!

When I went back to the waiting room to get the rest of the family, they were amused that I had a smile glued to my face. I did. I was so happy. The girls were too, when they got to see her. Of course in true McCracken style, the girls quickly brought attention to the fact that their mother reminded them of a giant Q-Tip with her head wrapped in gauze.

The nurses won't let me sleep in Susie's intensive care room with her tonight, so I'll crash in the waiting room instead.

Well, after reading all the posts from yesterday, I'm sitting here with tears running down my face with JOY! It's so amazing to hear how well Susie has been adjusting from her surgery. Ahhh...God is good. And, as you (McCracken's/Monroe's) know, we all (your friends & fam) will continue to pray for further healing and direction.

Thank you for keeping us updated with this blog. Technology can be pretty helpful sometimes :) Love to you all!

You all are an answer to prayer. No, really! I prayed for myself last night after getting the latest update that Susie was in recovery. It went something like this, "God, let them be able to let us know when she opens her eyes and God let that be soon." Why am I AMAZED to log-on this morning and read exactly that? HE is able to provide more than all we can ask or imagine! SHE'S TALKING TOO! Praise HIM, PRAISE HIM! God is SO GOOD and SO FAITHFUL to us all and through you I continue to be blessed. Thank you. We will keep praying in earnest and specifically for what you ask. May you feel God's hands holding you all today and may you all get some blessed, peaceful rest.

Affectionately,

Praise the Lord for your update! My family and I are praying for you all, and so is my Wednesday morning Bible study of gals Susie knows (Scarlett Cramer, Katrina Brummett, etc.). We were praying yesterday during our study's Christmas luncheon as we knew Susie was going into surgery at the same time!

Praise God for the gifted hands of Terry Horner! You've got the best neurosurgeon in the country!

Our prayers won't stop for Susie and for all of you! Hang in there! God's brewin' up a miracle!!

Blessings,
Betsy Paul
