Visitation and Funeral Information

It is with great sadnesss and joy that we are posting the visitation and funeral information for our mom, Susie. It has been a very tough 24 hours for us...moments of intense grief and then little bursts of joy as we remember our loving mama and how she touched us so, and where she is now -- rejoicing and cancer-free. And it continues to feel so surreal to all of us.

Visitation:
Thursday, April 30: 4:00-8:00 pm
Flanner & Buchanan Funeral Home
325 E. Carmel Dr. Carmel, IN 46032

Funeral:
Friday, May 1: 1:00 pm
Church at the Crossing
9111 Haverstick Rd. Indianapolis, IN

This morning, early as the day began, the Lord brought us to this verse:
"He tends his flock like a shepherd:
He gathers the lambs in his arms
and carries them close to his heart;
he gently leads those that have young."
Isaiah 40:11

We know we are being carried close to his heart today.

With love,
Molly, Haley, Mary Lou and Ellie

Hi McCrackens,
My heart aches so very badly for you guys as i join with you in the surreal mixture of sorrow at her passing and rejoicing that she is Home. Susie was an awesome gal with an electric spirit. I feel honored that she touched my life while she was here. I look forward to seeing her again in Eternity where we shall all know only joy. My prayers are constant as you walk this last mile with her.
Thank you Jesus that my sister and friend is home safe from the long journey. Thank you Jesus that her body is new and her pain is gone. Thank you sweet Jesus that her legacy lives on through the family she loved so much. We, her friends and family, want to praise You for the life she had. You Lord are the giver of life and it is You and You alone that may call our days to an end. Though our pain is great today Jesus we have no doubt that you care for us. There is this Day in Your Heaven a bright new voice among the Angels singing "Blessed be the Lord Almighty Who Was, and Is, and Is to come"!!
Susie IS HOME!!!! Thank You Sweet Jesus!!!

Dear Scott and Family,

I am so very sorry for your loss. Susie was a wonderful light-filled person...I remember that so clearly and I haven't seen you guys in 25 years.

Take care of yourselves and each other. God is so Good and there are so many gifts for all of you but this is sooo hard.

My husband Wayne died in 2003 from colon cancer when my son was 21 and my daughter 15. He was only 51 and the most alive, vital person imaginable but still he walked this walk. Trusting God is our only refuge, our hope and our joy.

Praying for you all, Scott,

Joanie Hall (from the old food co-op)

Dear McCracken Family,

My family and I attended CATC for a few years and my husband was a part of a class at CATC with Scott. We are so very sorry for your loss. We remember Susie being such a vibrant and wonderful person with a big heart. I lost my mom to cancer 9 years ago and so much appreciated reading your blog and could empathize with you all. The journey you all have been on is a journey that words cannot ever completely describe. We will pray that God's peace, comfort and love will be with you each day as you mourn the loss of Susie. My mother is also at Oaklawn so as I remember her there it will also remind me to pray for you all.

God Bless
The Puccinelli Family

Scott and Family,

I am so sorry to hear about Susie and the trials your family has endured during her illness. I was truly shocked when I saw the news in the paper, I had no idea.

We have lost touch as our families have grown and I am sorry and sad about that. Susie and all of you were the first to make us feel welcome out here on Shelborne Road. God and your faith gave you the strength to deal with all of this and will continue to do so I am certain.

Know that you are in my prayers ...

Your great loss is Heaven's great gain! You don't know what an inspiration you are to other people who have read your blog entries. You have never lost your faith in God and you continue to lean on that. Please let it be your peace to remember where dear Susie is now. We will all see her again some day, even though today that doesn't take our grief away.
