It is with joy and sorrow...

Early this afternoon, precious Susie went to see Jesus face to face. She had a peaceful transition from this earth to The New, surrounded by Scott, some family and friends. Her last hours were spent enveloped by prayer, hymns, and Scripture.

Arrangement information will be forthcoming. Prayers are coveted.

All of us have you in our thoughts and prayers. My five year old son, Chance, leads us in grace every night before dinner. After the Dear Jesus, thank you for this food, he includes Susie in his comments to "get better". Tonight will be a difficult night for all of us when Chance leads us in prayer before dinner. I have tears in my eyes just thinking about it.
We will be thinking about all of you.

Oh Susie, you will truly be missed, but we will always have you in our hearts. I will always hold you as an example of patience, understanding, and unconditional love. I will forever think of you and these special qualities as I raise my children, love my husband, and meet people new and old in my life. You were an inspiration to me and I will never forget your kind and gentle way. I am so glad we were able to spend time together in Atlanta last year. Those memories will forever be dear to me. Susie...in our hearts and in our prayers until we meet again...

My heart is heavy for your family. I remember Susie with very sweet and precious memories of a kind, joyful, and always smiling girl - a high school friend. Please know that you are in my prayers and the prayers of others who knew and loved Susie. May God give you comfort at this very difficult time.

I didn't know the battle you all were going through, and have gone through until today. I know that no words can mend the loss, but I also know that God is reaching to comfort you as He is welcoming Susie.

She will be missed, and she will be remembered.

Our prayers and thoughts are with you.

Through our tears, we are thankful for having known and loved Susie. Her faithful modeling and friendly perspective inspired us to be better people and parents. We fondly remember our date at the Slippery Noodle, Scott, last summer. Ohhhh, how things changed so rapidly! We pray unceasingly for you, Scott, and for your so-precious partner for life and beyond. We pray for your beautiful girls and extended family. Susie is free from pain, and she'll be waiting in paradise for all of you. Take comfort in the love you shared and in the family and friends that try to comfort you in your loss.

Scott and girls, I am so very sorry to get this news. We had no idea Susie was even ill. There aren't the words to express how highly we thought of her--that wonderful sense of humor ("Crashin' McCracken" comes to mind!) and her love for her Savior. May the Lord comfort you in the days and months ahead.

Words fail...completely...so this...

I keep picturing her in heaven somewhere all shiny-faced from laughing SO hard, feeling great, radiating her boundless and pure JOY everywhere to everyone, just like always... They're gonna LOVE her there...I wonder if they know how completely lucky they are to have her. Holy God does, I'm sure. I totally bet they hang out...she and HIM.

Thank you, LORD, that there is absolutely no cancer in heaven.

Thank you God for beautiful lives like Susie's. Whenever you were blessed enough to be caught in the blinding beam of her smile, you saw how much she loved God and how much HE loved you.

I cannot think of a life more well lived than Susie's. We are so thankful to have had our lives touched by hers.

McCrackens...we love you. We will say your names over and over again in our prayers as you face Susie's earthly absence and all its unimaginable grief.

God Be With You,
Jeri and Matt Schantz

I only 'knew' Susie due to the fact her office is right across the hall from our medical practice for the last 5 years, so she felt like a friend that we would see often in the hallway, coming and going in the parking lot, or just around the neighborhood. I can tell you she was always a joy to see and talk to, and she seemed to be one of those special people whose presence lifts others up! When I realized we wouldn't see her smiling face around here again my heart just broke (I'm pretty sure she ALWAYS had a smile for everyone!) I am so sorry for the loss of your wife and mother and friend, and prayers go out to you all for the peace of God!

Scott and Girls, Even though we haven't been in contact for you for a long time, Nick told me about what you were going through this morning and my heart just aches with sadness for you all. Susie was a wonderful, fun, loving woman who always had a kind word or an upbeat comment. I will pray for the coming days for you. I am so sorry.

Scott, Molly, Haley, Mary Lou and Ellie -

Tim and I are so sad to hear of your loss. As I read through these many comments, I can't help but nod my head and smile because it seems that everyone Susie met was just as touched by her as I was. A life lived with such joy and conviction cannot be overlooked! Thank you, McCrackens, for sharing a piece of your wife and mother with the rest of us. We have all been blessed.

We grieve with you and for you, and we are here is you need anything.
